Muhurta and Prashna — Timing and Questions

So far, you've been reading the chart of the moment you were born. But Vedic astrology also has two separate branches that don't use a birth chart at all — Muhurta and Prashna.

Muhurta (Muhūrta) is the art of choosing a good time. For things like weddings, moving, signing a contract, opening a business, or travel, people look to the sky to decide when to start something important. In India, it's still commonly used to pick a date ahead of a big event. The core of it is checking that day's Panchanga (the five elements) and the Moon's condition.

Prashna (Praśna) is even more distinctive. It builds a chart for the exact moment the question was asked and finds its answer there. Since you don't need to know a birth time to use it, it works for specific questions like 'Will they contact me?' or 'Will the deal close?' It's the same idea as horary astrology in Western astrology.

Both are fun, but it's good to keep the tone light. Picking a good day doesn't guarantee the outcome, and a bad day doesn't doom it either. They're most useful when treated as a prompt to settle your mind and check your preparations.
